Girls play Randburg twice

Northerns' girls pick up four points in two games.

Benoni Northerns Football Club’s girls’ Winter League team played their 10th and 11th games of the league season against the same opposition, Randburg, on Friday, July 18 (away), and Monday, July 21 (home).

Coach Neil Senneck was missing a number of his more experienced players on Friday night and gave some of the younger players an opportunity to impress.

The game was played mostly in the middle of the park and neither team was able to break the deadlock, as the match ended on 0-0.

At Northerns, on Monday night, the team managed to find the back of the net on three occasions and conceded one goal just after half time.

This game ended on 3-1, in favour of Northerns.

Chané Opperman scored the first and the third (a beautifully struck free kick from a distance) and Kirsten Vermeulen bagged the second for Senneck’s team.
