Prasa listens to petitioners

Prasa has started to address issues in Western Extension that were raised in a petition, earlier this year.

A petition with over 680 signatures was delivered to Metrorail officials in mid-March.

The passenger rail service was called into action to secure the 4km railway line that runs from Dunswart to Bunyan Street.

Residents in the area blamed criminal incidents on the ease with which criminals could enter homes from the railway line.

Prasa has erected a palisade fence on Dorset Avenue and will construct another on Country Lake Lane, once money becomes available.

A fence at the end of Woburn Avenue was repaired and pedestrian bridges were closed off on Victoria, Brayton and Newton avenues.

Clr Mary Goby, who submitted the petition to Metrorail, said she and the residents are happy with the work thus far.
