She presided over the very same case to which threats of her assassination are linked.
As she proceeded with the case more scary details emerged.
It emerged that the suspect, who is facing two attempted murder charges and a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm, had also made threats to kill the victim.
The victim told the court that the suspect, who is a Nigerian national, phoned him while he was in hospital and told him to withdraw the case or he would still come after him.
“He offered me R4 000 and later R10 000 to withdraw the case and said that even if I refuse to withdraw, he would still bribe the police with R100 000 to cancel the case and then he will come after me,” said the victim, who is under police protection.
When the proceedings started, the defence said the suspect owed the victim R30 000 for drugs with which the victim had supplied the suspect; something the victim denied.
The case was postponed to October 30.
