According to Tryna Maritz, Crystal Park media liaison, SAPS members were tipped off about a suspected hijacked truck on a premises in Kingsway Avenue and proceeded to make their way to the premises.
“On arrival they found three men running away from the property. They were chased and arrested,” said Maritz.
A white bakkie was seen being driven out the premises, the vehicle was stopped and three suspects were arrested.
“As soon as the SAPS, APB Security and CPF members went closer, they found another 11 persons inside a white sprinter which was parked next to the truck,” said Maritz.
Another person was arrested next to the truck as he tried to run away.
SAPS members found a jammer inside the truck and, after enquiring about the truck, it was discovered that it was hijacked on the N3, close to Vosloorus.
The arrested suspects are male, aged between 18 and 42, and are originally from Pakistan, Mozambique and South Africa.
After searching the cottage where the suspects were staying, various other goods, such as cigarettes and groceries and cellphones, were confiscated.
