No evidence of assault found on Nigerian’s man body
Allegations of assault have been eliminated on completion of a post mortem of the body of the Nigerian man who collapsed after being pulled over by police officers, on Saturday January 24.

Benoni SAPS acting station commander Col Martin van Nieuwenhuizen confirmed that no physical injuries were found on his body.
“There was no assault and no suffocation,” he said.
He said a toxicology report to determine the cause of death is being conducted.
This involves an investigation of the stomach and body contents of the deceased, which van Nieuwenhuizen added may take months to complete.
The man, believed to be 25 years old, was pulled over in a motor vehicle by two police officers from the K-9 Unit, on Tom Jones Street, in the Benoni CBD.
He was suspected of carrying illegal substances and pulled over for questioning.
He collapsed, due to what police suspected might have been asthma attack, and died while being transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital.
A crowd of Nigerians gathered, awaiting information on the death of the man.
No criminal charges have been laid.
The City Times reported on the incident on last week’s front page.
