UPDATE: Rape victim found at Bunny Park met perpetrator on social networking site
The woman who drove herself to the Benoni Bunny Park after being raped on Thursday (April 9), met the alleged perpetrator on a social networking site three weeks prior to the incident.

The 23-year-old female victim, a Springs resident, was allegedly raped at a house in Honiball Street, Rynfield.
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele confirmed this to the City Times this (Saturday) afternoon.
She said the victim met a man (26) on the site, offering her employment at his so-called courier company.
“The suspect promised her a job and said she could come on Wednesday (April 8) for an interview at Spur at the Springsgate shopping centre, in Springs.
The victim and her mother met the man at the Spur on Wednesday.
He fetched the woman from home on Thursday.
Sekele told the City Times the pair were en route to work when the man said he needed to go back home to collect something he had forgotten.
The spokesperson said the man is alleged to have raped the woman in the bedroom of his Rynfield residence.
“The victim managed to kick the man,” said Sekele.
“She ran, took his car keys and drove off to the Bunny Park.”
Two women at the Benoni Bunny Park came to the woman’s aid and called her mother and the police.
The suspect has since opened a case of theft of a motor vehicle against the alleged rape victim.
He was arrested after police noticed a similarity in the stories given to police by the rape victim and her alleged assailant.
The man is being detained at the Benoni Police Station on a charge of rape.
He is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court on Monday.
Sekele warned people not to release their address or phone numbers on social networking sites.
