At around 2.30pm, SAPS members, who were conducting daily patrols around the area, were stopped by a man who said he was robbed by three men, on Bunyan Street.
“After relating the story to the police and giving a description of the suspects, the victim went with the officers and spotted the suspects along Kimbolton Street,” said Lieut Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson.
“The suspects were cornered by police, they were searched and the victim’s cell phone was found in their possession.”
The suspects, aged between 28 and 35, were arrested and detained at Benoni SAPS cells.
They appeared in court on April 22 and again on April 23.
Following a number of robberies around the Benoni CBD, investigation will continue in order to verify whether these suspects can be linked to any other reported cases.
