Only one week left to enter cake competition
The Benoni City Times Mother's Day Cake Bake competition will be held next Thursday (May 7).

Professional and amateur bakers still have the opportunity to enter the competition.
Entries will be accepted on the day, however, bakers must arrive at the City Times office, at the Northmead Square, before 8am.
The categories bakers can enter are:
- Professional
- Bakers for Fun
- Tarts (sweet and savoury)
- Cupcakes
A panel of judges will rate the cakes and tarts according to taste, texture, moisture and aesthetic appeal.
A number of prizes are up for grabs in each category, including a one-day baking consultancy (worth R4 500) with Berry Legg, brand owner of Miz Gooz Berry, for the baker who shows promise and would benefit from assistance in producing award winning cakes.
The winners of each categories will receive a specially made purple power tool kit from Buco.
Also up for grabs are a Hallmark watch from JJ Jewellers, scarves from Cynamman, vouchers from Chez Melanie, sunglasses from The Spectacle Corner and a hamper from Westpack.
Elderly people from some of Benoni’s old age homes will be invited to enjoy the delicious treats.
