Benoni Bunny Park feeding needs support
You can help the Bunny Park Animals 911 Group to continue feeding the animals in the park, and have your name published in the City Times.

The group is looking for the following food donations:
- Lettuce, celery, apples, beetroot, pumpkin, cabbage, lettuce, papaya, broccoli, lucerne, eragrostis, lucerne pellets (ewe and lamb pellets), grass, pellets for rabbits, mixed fowl and whole mealies, to name a few.
To donate these items, or to contribute money, contact Tania Forrest-Smith on 084 601 1061, or Noeline Clare-Talbot on 082 455 3523.
You can also drop off items at Re/Max Randgro Benoni, at 45 Lakefield Avenue, or SMS them on 071 383 2643, for them to collect your donation.
The names of people who have donated goods and money will be published in the City Times every week, along with the type of donation and amount or quantity.
The following donations were made in the past week:
- Airport Pets: six bags of rabbit food, five bales of eragrostis, five bales of lucerne and fruit and veg.
- OK Grocer Great North.
- Vegetarium: they have been donating leaves to the park six times a week since 2011.
- Local Connection Real Estate: close to R2 000.
- Rebel Fruit and Veg Store, Main Reef Road.
- Jacques Pratt: R5 000.
- The Rotary Club of Benoni Van Ryn: R1 000.
- Re/Max: 250kg of rabbit pellets as well as collecting and delivering donations.
- Gold Rand Hog Chapter: R5 000.
- Hyundai Cresta for Fun Ride Day.
- Quicksilver Dispensary: 50kg bag of lamb/ewe pellets.
- Anglo Car Dealers: whole day’s feed.
- Marc Doig for weekly donations of peelings from Green Door.
- Happy Feet Pet Store: 40kg rabbit pellets and a bail of eragrostis.
- Additional donating organisations include Oaklands Farm Supply, Fresh Fellas, Food Lover’s Market Norwood, The Cow Jumped Over The Moon Nursery School, Fruit and Veg Benoni, Tom Newby School and Oakfields Pick n Pay;
- Individual donors include Jodi Abrahams, Lynn Hoff, Shelley Meskin, Joshua le Roux and Linda Gosnell.
The group is a registered NPO and now has a bank account for all monetary donations.
