Carcass by roadside shocks local residents

A dead dog was found by the roadside on the corner of Third Avenue and Fourth Street today, November 4.

The dog, believed to be a Husky, was found with black bags covering its head and hind legs.

Celine Bouwer, a resident in the area, noticed the carcass on her way home today (November 4).

“It’s ridiculous and cruel,” Bouwer said.

“I can’t believe someone can be so sick to just dump it there, with a black bag over its head.”

According to a nearby resident, the dog has been on the spot since Monday.

Bouwer contacted the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) regarding the carcass’s removal, after she was told they are responsible for its removal, by the Benoni SPCA.

EMM could not be reached in time for comment on the matter.
