Five wanted for armed robbery

The incident took place on January 19, at 9pm, at the corner of O’Reilly Merry and Malherbe streets.

According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele, it is alleged that five armed men entered the restaurant and pointed a firearm at a patron.

“One of the men then demanded money from the complainant,” she said.

The robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones.

No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

Police are investigating.
