Groups will stay at park until police intervene
Over 15 people are refusing to vacate the Benoni Bunny Park, in protest to have the park closed.
Members of the Bunny Park Animals 911 Group and Ban Animal Trading (Bat) are occupying the park just inside its entrance.
Tania Forrest-Smith, of the Bunny Park Animals 911 Group, said the two groups will stage a sit-in until police “physically remove us”.
Police were on scene but have since left.
The groups are demanding the park be closed indefinitely, and have for months asked that their concerns about the conditions of the park and its inhabitants be improved.
The groups are staging a protest at the park tomorrow (May 14) from 9am until 11am.
