New developments for Cloverdene
The community of Cloverdene is set to receive a convenience centre by November.
The centre will have a clothing store and a food outlet, to name a few.
Cloverdene Junction will be situated near the Sasol garage, on the corner of Putfontein and Cloverdene roads.
Previous owners Anshah Investments sold the property to One Property Holdings.
“We are very excited, we are old and we can’t hold onto something that will create jobs for residents in the community,” said Salim Bayett, the previous owner.
”The place was hard to maintain and we have to give it to the youngsters who can do the work for us.”
To provide more convenience for residents, possible plans to build a taxi rank near the centre are also in the pipe line.
“This is a good thing, it was an eyesore,” said Ward 24’s Clr Stefanie Kruger.
“The residents of Chief Albert Luthuli Park will have something closer, instead of travelling to Daveyton Mall or Lakeside Mall.
“Cloverdene residents will benefit economically in terms of job creation.”
One Property Holdings have opted to employ members of the Cloverdene community to build the centre and to create jobs within the community.
The owner of the petrol station also shared his excitement about the developments and said this would mean more job creation and the construction would add more value to his business.
