Four arrested with drugs worth R30 000

Four foreign nationals were arrested with drugs worth R30 000, in the Benoni CBD, on July 29.

The intelligence-driven provincial drug operation was carried out by the EMPD, TMPD, JMPD and SAPS, between 2pm and 10pm.

Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, said a 42-year-old male was arrested in a house, in possession of crack cocaine and heroin, which is worth R10 000.

Another man, who is 38 years old, was arrested with crack cocaine worth R15 000.

Outside the Benoni Plaza, a 34-year-old man was caught with dagga valued at R1 000.

The fourth suspect was arrested with R3 500 worth of crack cocaine and heroin.

All the suspects were charged with being in possession of illicit substances.

They are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court today (August 1).
