The warning comes after reports of residents being approached by men who claimed that they are police officers, carrying out official duties.
The impostors are said to be using fraudulent police appointment cards to deceive their targets.
To help protect residents from criminals posing as cops, the Boksburg police remind members of the public that they are entitled to ask to see an officer’s SAPS appointment card as an official form of identity.
