Three wanted for Northmead armed robbery

A case of business robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station, after an armed robbery at a business in Northmead.

The incident occurred this morning (October 10) on Stokroos Street at around 11am.

According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele, it is alleged that three men entered the business premises and pointed a firearm at a female employee.

“One of the men who pointed a firearm at the woman went to the business owner’s office with the woman held at gunpoint,” said Sekele.

Sekele said the man instructed the owner not to look at him as he opened the safe.

“After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the safe, the three men tied up all eight employees in the kitchen and searched the premises.”

The suspects fled in an unknown vehicle with hard drives, laptops, monitors and eight cellphones.

No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

Police are investigating.
