Northerns will host Joost tribute
A tribute will be held for late Springbok scrum half Joost van der Westhuizen at Benoni Northerns Sports Club tomorrow (February 10).
Western Extension resident Tami van Genderen said she thought of the idea as many people loved the former rugby player.
Attendees will form a giant number “9” on the field, which will represent the number van der Westhuizen wore on his jersey.
People are urged to bring along a Springbok or SA flag.
The tribute starts at 6pm on the club’s main field.
