Lakes club takes the lion’s share at convention
Benoni Lakes Lions Club brought home several awards from the Lions Multiple District 410 Convention, held in Cape Town.
The conference, which took place from April 26 to 28, celebrated Lions Clubs International turning a century old and Benoni Lakes Lions Club was proudly part of it.
The club won the following awards:
• Project of the Year: This was for the work done in Nestpark for the people affected by the tornado.
• Highest number of Christmas cakes sold (1 440).
• Lions Lady of the Year (Ann Christian).
The club also received an award for “outstanding promotion of club activities and projects on the Multiple District Facebook group”.
Nick and Beaulieu Maré, Lauryn Talbot, Michelle T’Hart, David Irving, Renier Blignaut and prospective member Bernice Maré attended the conference on behalf of the club.
