Woman completely covered in trench collapse hospitalised
A woman who was completely buried in dirt after the walls of a trench caved in was hospitalised with moderate injuries this afternoon (October 30).
Claire Wolstencroft, ER24 spokesperson, said two female municipal workers were injured on Pillay Street, Actonville when the trench they were working on apparently caved in.
Wolstencroft said fellow workers rushed to remove soil in an attempt to retrieve the woman.
Ekurhuleni Fire Services soon took over.
The second woman sustained minor injuries.
Both were rushed to Life the Glynnwood Hospital.
