The EMPD, SAPS and community patrollers joined forces last week to clean up Prestige College and Petit High School, in an effort to rid the schools of drugs and weapons.
“The special joint operation on August 8 yielded no contraband at Prestige College, but at Petit High School officers found 23 dagga zols, a ziplock bag of dagga, several loose cigarettes and boxes of matches and these were confiscated,” said EMPD spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago.

“In addition, 30 cellphones and a boom box FM radio were seized as these items are prohibited in classrooms.
“These operations are conducted periodically, in conjunction with education officials, to target pre-identified problematic schools.
“All the confiscated items, except the cellphones, which were left with the principal, were booked in at Crystal Park Police Station,” Kgasago concluded.
