A heartwarming tribute in Actonville

Many of the residents, mostly children, lined up to receive a meal and a beverage.

On October 27, the Spirit Coolers took to the streets of Actonville to provide a hearty meal for the local residents.

The Spirit Coolers is a community-based service group created by members of the public to uplift local communities.

The feeding on Saturday, which is done every three months according to Spirit Cooler member Ruby Moonsamy, was a tribute to their late brother Parly Moonsamy who died 40 days earlier.

Member of the Spirit Coolers, Ray Naidoo, said the group had been around for almost three years.

“We do the feeding regularly but this specific feeding is being done in honour of our late brother,” he explained.

Ruby Moonsamy confirmed that around 500 people in the area were fed on the day.
