Don’t miss Christmas Tableaux at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church
Entrance is free and there will be coffee, biscuits and cold drinks.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the Christmas Tableaux at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Rynfield.
Ian Wilson, an elder of the church, explained that 11 years ago one of their members saw a miniature depiction of the Christmas story in Witbank and came back with the dream of building one in Benoni.
“The Tableaux display has grown in sophistication to what is today a display of realistic, life-size mannequins on wire frames with heads and hands and dressed in biblical attire.
“The display is supplemented with lights.”

From November 26, and until the start of the school holidays, over 800 pre-schoolers are booked to visit the display during the day, Wilson added.
A family service takes place on December 2, at 6pm, after which the lights will be switched on for the first time this year.
The public is invited to attend a Carols by Candlelight service at the church, at 24C Miles Sharp Street, on December 23, from 6pm.
The Tableaux is open every night from 7pm to 9pm, until Christmas Eve (December 24) and everyone is welcome to visit.
