Support Lions Cans for Africa and win big
The club will build a pyramid with the cans collected over the three days, as donations come in.
The Benoni Van Rhyn Lions Club and the Benoryn Lions Branch Club are holding a Cans for Africa collection and there are great spot prizes and a grand prize of R1 000 to be won.
It will take place at Rebel Food, 28 Star Street, Atlasville, from November 30 to December 2 and this is how the project works:
• Donate a can or R10 to get an entry into the grand prize draw and to play for spot prizes.
• Pick a town or city on the Central Africa map.
• There could be a spot prize hidden under your city or town.
• On the last day, December 2, at 3pm, the draw will take place for the R1 000 and second and third prizes.

Peter van der Heiden, a member of the Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club, explained that all the canned food donated will be distributed in December and early January to various beneficiaries, including old age homes, children’s homes, child welfare and other organisations.
He added that the project was very successful last year, enabling them to feed about 2 000 people through 15 beneficiaries.
The Lions will be at Rebel Food on November 30 from 8am to 4.30pm, December 1 from 8.30am to 3.30pm and on December 2 from 8.30am to 3pm.
