BFS arrests 11

From April 26 to April 28, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested 11 suspects and recovered six motor vehicles in and around Benoni.

“One suspect was detained at Nhlehle Street, Daveyton, after she allegedly broke a boyfriend’s window and stole clothing,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

Giblin said six suspects were found in possession of various quantities of drugs at Daveyton hostel and arrested.

Four suspects, in a white Volkswagen Golf on R562 next to Phumalani Mall, were found in possession of computer equipment suspected to be stolen.

“They were arrested immediately and the exhibits confiscated,” he said.

In further policing, the following six abandoned vehicles were recovered:

• White Isuzu KB at Rhokane Street, KwaThema, stolen on a Tsakane case.

• White Ford Ranger at Dube Street, Wattville, hijacked on a Zonkezizwe case.

• White Hyundai H100 at Cloverdene and Eight Road, Crystal Park, hijacked on a Delmas case.

• Gold Volkswagen Polo next to a filling station in Isando, Kempton Park, stolen on an Alexandra case.

• White Toyota Etios at Esangweni Section, Tembisa, hijacked on a Bedfordview case.

• BMW 320i at Springs Railway Station, hijacked on a Delmas case.

Investigations continue in all cases.

The suspects, aged 20 to 38 years, will be appearing in their respective local magistrate’s courts, facing charges of malicious damage to property, theft, possession of suspected stolen goods and possession of drugs.
