The prize-giving for the City Times Moms & Daughters and Dads & Sons Photo Competition was held at The Secret Garden on Saturday (June 8), where the top five finalists and the winner of the Editor’s Choice photograph came together with City Times staff for the announcement of the overall winner and runners-up.
Editor of the City Times Lana O’Neill welcomed the finalists, their families and guests and explained the competition was aimed at recognising the important role parents play in society, and to wish the moms a belated happy Mother’s Day and the dads a special day too on Father’s Day, June 16.
The photo competition will be held again next year, under a different theme.
Our top five were determined by online votes and the final decision rested with five independent judges – Darren Lustig (Kodak, Northmead Square), Juanita Croukamp an Lesego Modubu (The Spectacle Corner, Northmead Square), Lisa Johnson (Northfield Methodist Church) and Zamera Reinhardt (Rustinique Art & Frame, Northmead Square).
