The Ekurhuleni metro confirmed a sinkhole was identified in the early hours of the morning (November 2) on the N12 southbound in Benoni.
According to a local CPF group, the road is closed in both directions in the affected area.

“Motorists are requested to avoid this road as it poses a safety hazard to road users,” said Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“Geo-technical investigations to assess the situation will be carried out.”
