Rotary market spreads joy to learners

The fund-raiser took place at the Benoni Country Club in the form of a market and carols evening.

Learners at Ekukhanyeni Primary School in Wattville can look forward to an exciting year ahead since the Rotary Club of Benoni Van Ryn recently raised funds and stationery for the school.

After a day of shopping at the market, The Salvation Army Brass Band orchestrated a memorable evening with the crowd gathering around the band to sing Christmas carols.

“One of the places we support is the Selimana Cooperative, which was given a stall at the market,” said president of the club Charmaine Cole-Niven.

“This allows them to be more self-sustaining.”
