Three alleged drug dealers arrested

The arrested threesome are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested three alleged drug dealers in Cranbourne Avenue recently.

“Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, the EMPD DEU officers briefly observed three male characters marketing their prohibited product illegally,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

“Between 1pm and 2pm, the DEU team momentarily surveyed the Benoni Plaza where the suspects, who are 24, 44 and 46 years of age, were approached and body searched.

“Thirty-one ziplocks of dagga, valued at R1 500 and R940 cash, were confiscated.”

Mokheseng said the trio, including an alleged car parking assistant personnel, were arrested on the charges of possession of and dealing in illicit substance.
