Tembisa Golf Club recently had a kind gesture from Ebotse Golf Club.

The late Joe Civin has donated golf equipment to Tembisa Golf Club, and his son, Errol, was more than happy to do the donation himself.

Errol, who is the club captain of Ebotse Golf Club in Benoni called Benjamin Monyanyedi of Tembisa Golf Club and informed him that his late father had asked him to one day donate his golf equipment, which consisted of golf bags, golf clubs, golf balls, golf magazines and fitness equipment, to someone who might be able to put them to good use.

Benjamin was thrilled and went to meet Errol at the Ekurhuleni Golf Union offices in Benoni where the donation took place.

“It was indeed such a great gesture of Errol to have thought of our Tembisa Golf Club development team, as most of the kids in our programme do not have the finances to afford such quality equipment that Errol has brought to us.

“It was also quite humbling to hear Errol say that his dad had wished for his golf equipment to be donated and knowing that it is our desire at Tembisa to one day have a Tyger Woods emerging from our township, we were the lucky ones chosen to receive this donation.

“The donation of the clubs and equipment to us could possibly have been the best thing to have happened to us and it was all because of such great human beings like the late Joe Civin, and Errol Civin.

“On behalf of our development and the entire membership of the Tembisa club, we wish to say thank you very much Errol and to his late father Joe. May his soul rest in peace,” said Benjamin.
