Putfontein SAPS reaches out to a family in need

The Putfontein SAPS donated food, clothes and school shoes to a needy family in Mayfield Extension Nine on February 10.

Spokesperson Const Raider Ubisi said police were attending a complaint at the house when they saw that the Novela family was in need.

“The family consists of 10 members and no one is employed. They depend on the children’s social grant,” said Ubisi.

“The station decided to come together and lend a helping hand to the family.”

The mother, Yvonne Novela, appreciated the donations and thanked the members for their efforts.

“Words cannot describe how I am feeling right now; I am touched by this great gesture,” said Novela.

CPF chairperson Tumi Pule thanked the members for reaching out to the family, by showing a softer side of their hearts.
