Meanwhile in Brakpan, officers responded to a hijacking in progress complaint of a brown Audi A4 at Carnival Mall.
“They were put in contact with one of the complainants who was following the suspects. Together with community assistance this resulted in the arrest of two suspects at Devon Road, Dalview.
“The vehicle was recovered after being abandoned in Van der Walt Street. An unlicensed 9mm Norinco pistol with serial number filed off and one live round of ammunition was also recovered.”
Giblin said: “Still in Brakpan two were found in possession of drugs at Wender and Queens avenues. Heroine and mandrax were confiscated and the suspects arrested.”
On Saturday officers followed up information which led to three arrested at Culler Street, Selection Park in Springs, when they were found in possession of cellphone tower batteries suspected to be stolen.
Their white Toyota Corolla they were travelling in was also impounded.
“On Sunday three more were arrested after being found in possession of drugs in Kempton Park and Actonville. Dagga and mandrax were confiscated.
“Two abandoned vehicles were also recovered – a red Volkswagen Polo in Kempton Park, reported hijacked in Rabie Ridge and a blue Toyota Etios at Queens reported stolen in Brits.
