She said the elderly needs to be respected all the time.

“They are our lifeblood and our backbone.

Centre manager Emily Mohlamonyane says it has been tough since the lockdown came into being.

“We had to come up with a strategy to train them how to wear masks and to sanitize themselves frequently.”

“The centre stopped visiting hours for the safety of our patients since they are vulnerable to the virus.

“We do phone calls to their families for communication and try video calls sometimes if they really miss them.

“We are blessed to have people in the community who still show love and kindness despite the Covid-19 challenges.

Mohlamonyane said the donations will be of great help.

Grateful Eunice Mazibuko, one of the beneficiaries, gave a word of thanks and blessed the team for the wonderful work they have done.
