Benoni High School learner takes third place in writing competition

Benoni High School Grade 10 learner Maseeha Hoosen was encouraged by teacher Kayleigh Boyd to participate in the Sci-Bono Storytelling Competition.

Her prize was an Exclusive Books voucher for herself and 50 books for her school. The Sci-Bono Storytelling Competition called on young writers to submit a 500-word story based on the theme of water.

“We received over 600 articles from across South Africa, with children and schools participating in the competition,” said competition organiser Collin Law.
