Eleven injured in Etwatwa weekend collision

Local authorities were also on the scene for further investigations.

A head-on collision between two taxis on Eiselen Street, Etwatwa, east of Benoni on November 21 left 11 people injured.

“ER24 paramedics arrived at 7.15pm, and the provincial emergency medical services as well as the fire department were already on scene,” said Multimedia producer, Ross Campbell.

“The fire department was needed to extract one of the drivers from the wreckage, while all the other patients were already sitting on the curb being assessed. All the injured were adults and all were found to have suffered moderate injuries.

“Paramedics treated and transported four patients, while ER24 treated six women and one man before transporting six to Far East Rand Hospital and one to a private hospital in the area for further care.”

Local authorities were also on the scene for further investigations.
