The Putfontein police are calling on witnesses to come forward after a man and woman were involved in a hit-and-run in Brown Street, Zenzele, Mayfield, on May 3 at around 2am.

The 29-year-old man was declared dead on scene and the woman was transported to the nearest hospital with serious injuries.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said they suspect a driver of a vehicle hit the couple and drove off.
