“You know that feeling when you want something so badly in life and then you start seeing it manifest before your eyes? That is the feeling I have after being signed with PMG,” said Monique, a Rynfield resident.

She has signed a contract for two single releases.

“Next year we can focus on releasing an official EP if both parties are in agreement,” she said.

An EP is a collection of music that’s longer than a single and shorter than an album.

According to musicianonamission.com, artists often release an EP when they want to grow their audience or experiment with new styles.

“There are no words to describe this joy of finally knowing my music has a chance to be heard, not only by our amazing fellow South Africans but internationally as well.”

Monique’s song will be released on 42 mainstream platforms, social platforms and lastly on Unique business platforms.

“I wrote this song. I have been working on it for quite some time, as the tune I was looking for was something very specific. The lyrics however came very naturally to me.

“I am very proud to be able to call this song mine.”

The name of the song is Forever Mine and according to Monique, it is about love.

“But not the kind of love you see in movies, read about in books or use in vain,” she explained.

“It’s more like souls connecting and hearts syncing, it’s the kind that you don’t plan for. It is a divine accident. And once you enjoy this kind of love you want it to last a lifetime, to be forever yours.”

Monique said her signing with PMG Records was a match made in Benoni.

“I came across PMG’s article in the Benoni City Times a few weeks after my article was published and at that time was seriously looking at taking my music to the next step,” said Monique.

“We connected immediately and thanks to Benoni City Times, a bond and an amazing work relationship was formed.”

Monique featured in the City Times for having been chosen to take part in the IMTA competition in New York City.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend IMTA this year as originally planned due to financial constraints. However, I will keep saving and hopefully, still, go on that adventure within the next year or so.”

Monique is very thankful to her family, friends and of course PMG Records

“I am so grateful to all of them, for believing in my dream and talent and for being by my side and helping me through all the good and bad times,” she said.

“Also to my growing fan base. It is because of them believing in me as an artist that I can do this.

“Last but not least thank you to Benoni City Times for bringing an artist and a record label together to create magic.”

Forever Mine is now available for pre-order and the song release date is May 20.
