The Impilo Collection Foundation recently used Phandimfundo Secondary School in Ekurhuleni as a drop-off zone to donate 1 100 litres of sanitiser that will be distributed to five schools in Daveyton.
As part of their commitment to making a difference in society, the foundation will distribute 9 000 litres of hand sanitiser to 65 schools in all nine provinces, keeping close to 45 000 pupils safe and in school during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Founder of Impilo Collection Foundation, Angela Yeung, said there is no doubt that the pandemic had interrupted the education of South Africa’s youth, adding that no child deserves to be left behind.
She believes a solid education is a key to future development: “Education breeds confidence; confidence breeds hope, and hope breeds peace.
“We want pupils across the country to have the opportunity to learn and grow. We want them to be confident about taking on their future,” she said.
Yeung concluded that it is also important for educators to feel safe while teaching during these challenging times.
The MMC for Health and Social Development in Ekurhuleni, Nomadlozi Nkosi, will support the distribution to the local schools.
