Fun as they run at Homestead Lake
The 5km run/walk is a great way for families to stay active.
Homestead Lake parkrun is back in full swing, and runners are turning up in their numbers to participate.
Since the easing of the lockdown restrictions, parkrun coordinators have had their hands full organising weekly events for runners to be able to get out while providing a safe and compliant space.
According to Tamzin Wolmarans, a member of the organising committee, more than 200 participants have regularly taken part in the event.
“We find that participants are excited to be outdoors again, seeing familiar faces and just enjoying the run,” she said.
“Runners and volunteers are all compliant with the Covid protocols we have in place, something that will ensure we can continue hosting our events.”
