Three suspected robbers arrested

The suspects have been remanded at the Benoni SAPS

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested three suspected robbers during its routine morning patrols on June 1.

According to Capt Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the Benoni Police Station, members stopped a white Toyota Quantum on the N12 West highway.

“Three of the six occupants were arrested when they were found to be in possession of unlicensed firearms, one of which could be positively linked to a Honeydew case,” said Sekele.

“A further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a laptop, housebreaking implements, cigarettes, various cellphones, clothes and an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects could not account for all the items.”

Benoni SAPS station commander Brig Thabo Mphuthi applauded the BFS members of a job well done.
