Are you Training Ship Springs’ next recruit?
Parents are welcome to watch the various demonstrations and selection process.
Training Ship Springs is hosting its annual recruitment day and inviting kids aged 12 to 15 to join.
Training Ship Springs offers training activities in maritime skills such as seamanship, sailing, rowing, catering, engineering, communications and first aid to teenagers from all walks of life.
The programme enables South African Sea Cadets to not only master practical skills but offers them a conducive environment where life-long friendships are fostered.
By joining the South African Sea Cadets, participants will also adopt the movement’s eight ideals, including honesty, loyalty, morality, discipline, leadership, teamwork, respect and integrity.
The recruitment day will take place on January 28 from 10:00 to 13:00 at the Springs Catholic Church Hall, Derby Avenue, Springs.
To qualify, entrants must be able to speak and understand English and be willing to commit to weekly attendance and the monthly fee of R100.
Participants should dress in comfortable clothes and bring a copy of their birth certificates, contact details of parents or guardians and a black pen.
