Mercurial invincibles remain unbeaten

The Mercurial Stars FC’s U6 team clinched a league and cup double after winning the Eastern U6 League Two title and Plate Cup.
The team finished the league unbeaten on 56 points, winning 18 games and drawing two. They also scored 113 goals and only conceded 13 to end the season on a goal difference of 100.
“We are extremely proud of the players for their wonderful achievement and enthusiasm they showed throughout the campaign,” said coach Ridwan Raju.
Raju and his co-coach, Ryan Jones, also led the boys to cup glory as they beat Olympia 2-1 in the final.
“We thank all our sponsors and Benoni West Primary School SGB and principal for affording us the opportunity to utilise their school as our home base,” added Raju.
The team’s U12s also won the Eastern U12 League Three trophy. The youngsters won 14 games and lost four, ending the season on 42 points.
