Six learners from Benoni High School dotted their i’s and crossed their t’s as they raked in the awards during the recent De Beers English Olympiad. Competing against 8 000 candidates from across the world, the competition is aimed at encouraging critical thinking while allowing entrants to showcase their creative writing skills. The awards are as follows (back): Kamohelo Makena (Grade 10, silver), Alexi-Lee Roos (Grade Nine, bronze), Tracey Mills (coach) and Gina Lourens (Grade 10, bronze). Absent: Sahil Govender (Grade 12, bronze).
