Work ongoing to restore power after Morehill substation fire

The estimated restoration time is 21:00.

CoE technicians are working tirelessly to restore power at the Morehill substation after a fire broke out last night, leaving parts of the Benoni area without electricity.

According to metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the power interruption affects several areas surrounding Morehill.

“The estimated restoration time is 21:00, but technicians are working around the clock to restore the power as soon as possible. We urge customers to treat electrical networks as live while work is ongoing,” said Dlamini.
