Investigations into all cases are continuing.

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) and Gauteng SAPS Rapid Response Services (RRS) recently arrested 98 suspects across the province:

Unlicenced firearm
A 19-year-old man was arrested and an unlicenced CZ 9mm pistol recovered in Brits Street, Extension 2, Daveyton, on October 31.

Illicit cigarettes
Cigarettes valued at R25 000 were confiscated in Barcelona, Extension 34, Etwatwa, on November 2. A 31-year old foreign national was arrested on charges of possession.

Possession of drugs
BFS members arrested a 35-year-old suspect in Turton Street, Daveyton on charges of being in possession of drugs.

RRS
From October 25 to 31, RRS units including Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol arrested 95 suspects and recovered five firearms.

Various concentrated operations led to the arrest of 55 suspects on charges of assault with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, robbery, theft, possession of stolen property, house break-in, rape, murder, perjury, pointing of a firearm, malicious damage to property, kidnapping, contravention of a protection order, domestic violence and driving under the influence of alcohol.

A total of 41 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered, accompanied by 11 arrests.

Three persons were also arrested on charges of being in possession of unlicensed firearms.

In further policing 26 arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs. Heroin, dagga, cocaine,

Mandrax and meth were confiscated.
