The club’s field at Willowmoore Park was divided into four mini-grounds to accommodate nine-a-side matches for the U13 and U15 categories, aligning with the developmental needs of these age groups.

“The tournament’s success was a testament to the Benoni Spurs’ commitment to developing the beautiful game in our community. The electric atmosphere was palpable, with teams displaying remarkable passion, dedication and sportsmanship,” said the club’s Zain Shah.

Over 1 000 players took part in the tournament.

“We were honoured to welcome teams from as far afield as KZN, demonstrating the tournament’s growing national appeal. Our grounds buzzed with excitement when the players, coaches and spectators revelled in the thrilling matches and nail-biting finishes.”

The venue was a hive of activity on both days, with fans creating a buzzing atmosphere through loud cheers across all four fields.

The tournament featured 27 teams.

The heroes behind the tournament’s success were the technical officials, whose expertise and professionalism ensured seamless and fair gameplay, said Shah.

“Their dedication and focus were instrumental in maintaining the high standards of the tournament.”

Spurs thanked all the participating teams “for their passion and sportsmanship”, their sponsors for their “generous support”, and their volunteers and staff “for their tireless efforts in ensuring the tournament was a success”.
