Gymnast sets sight on England

She and her U11 freestyle couples partner, Nevah Meek, have won the U11 national freestyle couples category for three years in a row.

Gymnast Tayla Tucker will again represent SA at the World Freestyle Dance Championships in Blackpool, England, in June.

Tayla, ranked first in the U14 premier champ section, was unbeaten in the 15 competitions she participated in last year in the 11 and under premier championship for slow dance and freestyle.

She will represent SA at the World Freestyle Dance champs in June.

During the Gauteng champs, Tayla raked in four gold medals in the U11 premier championship slow dance, freestyle, U14 world qualifier and a third consecutive U11 freestyle couples with her partner, Nevah Meek.

The St Dunstan’s College learner won the same titles at the South African Dance Teachers Association National Championship in November in Cape Town to cap off another great year on the dance floor.

The young dancer is in training, preparing for the worlds, where she will compete in the U14 premier championship section.
