Mall on a mission to get learners into school shoes
Second-hand shoes in good condition are welcomed and can be dropped at the mall's info desk.

East Rand Mall is on a mission to ensure little ones are ready for the new school year by aiming to collect 200 pairs of shoes for New Comet Primary learners.
The initiative follows a series of successful community-driven activations in 2024, where local businesses partnered to support the school and this year the mall is expanding the effort to include all its tenants and the community.
The shoe donation drive will run until February 7. During this time, the East Rand Mall marketing team will visit participating stores to request donations of school shoes.
“Each store will be asked to donate a pair of shoes, with the shoe size and child’s name provided by the mall’s marketing team,” said East Rand Mall manager Tshepiso Kgowana.

Community members are also welcome to contribute.
Second-hand shoes in good condition are welcomed and donations can be dropped off at the mall’s information desk at any time during the campaign.
“We want to make sure that these children start their school year with pride. By partnering with our tenants and the community, we can provide them with the school shoes they need.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference.”
The shoes will be handed over at the school in February.
Kgowana explained the mall has done previous activities for New Comet Primary School in partnership with tenants which was a huge success.
