Nomaxabiso Matjila from Liberty Life said the donation formed part of their yearly campaign.

“Each year, we pick a school in need and we then donate school shoes to all the learners,” said Matjila.

Matjila told learners that she was once in their position, adding that she knows how it feels to not have school shoes in winter.

“With these school shoes, please come to school to learn and make your parents proud,” said Matjila.

According to the principal of the school, George Mashinini, most of the learners come from disadvantaged backgrounds where their parents rely on grants as a source of income.

“Such gestures in our school are greatly appreciated because a shoe is one basic instrument that helps a child come to school.”

Mashinini indicated that Liberty Life has previously reached out to them.

“We feel blessed to have such a relationship with people that care about our learners,” he added.
