The event starts at 08:00.

The Homestead Helpers is hosting a clean-up event on March 15 to spruce up the Benoni SPCA open yard behind the kennels.

The Helpers will cut the grass, help clean the kennels and trim the trees surrounding the property. They invite the community to come assist them make life easier for the rescued animals.

“We love the animals. We’ve seen how the grounds at the SPCA look like. We don’t want the animals to suffer. We are happy to go there and make a difference,” said the Helpers’ Catherine Taxer.

Nina Visser added that they will also assist the organisation by repairing broken machines and equipment.

“We’ve taken their existing equipment that’s not working and took it to Monster Mowers. This is to empower the organisation to let their workers use the equipment they already have. We’d be assisting them with that and will also offer them expertise on care for the facility,” said Visser.

The event starts at 08:00.
