Rynsoord petrolhead makes waves in motorsport
She's the organiser of the Wicked Wednesday Night at The Rock Raceway.
Global Female Movement (GFM) founder Narina Naidoo continued to raise her profile in motorsport when she successfully hosted a spinning event celebrating two-time Red Bull Shayimoto champ, Samkeliso ‘Sam Sam’ Thubane’s birthday on March 9.
Naidoo, from Rynsoord, is one of the few influential female figures in motorsport in the province. Her event at The Rock Raceway attracted over 50 drivers from various provinces and had hip-hop sensation Big Zulu as the musical guest.

“It was history in the making. We brought Brakpan to a complete standstill with the venue reaching full capacity. We achieved new highs with this event,” she said.
The petrolhead, host of the weekly Wicked Wednesday for drag racing and spinning at the same venue, said the sound of roaring cars and crazy stunts overstimulated the fans, while near-perfect driving left the smell of smoke and burning rubber in the air.

The trailblazer encouraged more women to get involved in motorsport, which is male-dominated, and added that she plans to take a team to Angola in August to compete against seven other countries in spinning, drifting and drag racing.
“My passion for motorsport and empowering other females is the driving force behind the GFM, which I created for my daughters and women who love motorsport.

“I encourage the youth to not participate in illegal drag racing but to rather attend the Wicked Wednesday Nights at The Rock Raceway.”
